Goldman was an avid amateur astronomer. He charted sunspots daily. His more recent sculptures, Cosmic Incubator I & II, were inspired by images sent back to earth from NASA’s Hubbel Space Telescope of nebula and the birth of stars.
After Cosmic Incubator II he created Hurricane/Galaxy. Sculpting the piece first in clay over a steel frame, he made a mold (mother mold) and then cast the prototype in resin-bronze. It is from this prototype a permanent mold was made.
